Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2017 – Judging Day

The judging for this year’s Awards took place on March 27, hosted by Thomson Reuters at their head offices in Canary Wharf.

Shortlisted candidates had the opportunity to meet the judging panel, chaired by Lady Emma Arbuthnot, as well as Pinky Lilani CBE DL, who founded the AWA Awards 18 years ago. The day also enabled candidates to meet each other, share their stories and build their networks.

It is always an exciting day and this year was no different! There was a fantastic buzz and energy to the day.

Farrah Qureshi, CEO of Global Diversity Practice and finalist for the Entrepreneur category, said:

Thank you for the opportunity to both meet the judges, team and fellow nominees yesterday. It was a wonderful experience and certainly nerve-wracking, but more importantly motivational and inspiring! Whatever the outcome, it’s been an absolute pleasure to date and I feel personally very privileged to have got to this stage.’

Sophia Buncy, Community Development and Prisoner Rehab Coordinator at Muslim Hands UK who made the Social & Humanitarian shortlist, commented:

‘It was a wonderful networking event and so inspiring to meet so many wonderful women who are flying the flag!’

The winners will be announced during the award ceremony on May 10 at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Book your place to join us at: https://www.awaawards.com/book/
