Professor Jenny Higham

Principal, St George's, University of London

Prof Jenny Higham is Principal at St George’s, University of London. In addition, she was elected Chair of the Medical Schools Council (representing all the publicly funded medical schools of the UK) for a 3 years term in 2016. She has awards for Outstanding Leadership (2014), Teaching Excellence (2013) and was the Women of the Future National Mentor of the Year in 2011.
Professor Higham’s research interest is in the use of advanced simulation in medical education, having previously focused on reproductive medicine. She has 30 years’ clinical specialist experience as a Consultant Gynaecologist.
Previously, she was Vice Dean for Institutional Affairs and Director of Education in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London. She was instrumental in establishing the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine in Singapore and was awarded The NTU Gold Award and Fellowship of the Teaching Academy in 2015.
