Lady Arbuthnot

The Lady Arbuthnot (Emma) was called to the Bar in 1986 and was a barrister in the Chambers of Roy Amlot QC. She prosecuted and defended in rape, murder, fraud and health and safety cases. In 2001 and 2002 she became a Recorder of the Crown Court and a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts). In 2011 she became a bencher of the Inner Temple. In 2014 she became a Recorder in the Family Court and in 2016 she was appointed Senior District Judge (Chief Magistrate) for England and Wales. She is married to James and has four children.
