Catherine Johnson is Group General Counsel of London Stock Exchange Group and a member of the LSEG Executive Committee. Prior to assuming this role in 2012, Catherine was Head of the Legal Department from 2001. Catherine joined the Group in 1996 in the Regulation Department. In her current role, Catherine is responsible for legal issues across LSEG and has been instrumental in key strategic initiatives, including transactions with Borsa Italiana, LCH Group, FTSE Russell and the proposed merger between LSEG and Deutsche Borse. Having obtained a law degree from Kings College, Cambridge, Catherine qualified at Herbert Smith in 1993 within their corporate division.
